Featured Speaker: David C. Grabowski
David C. Grabowski, a professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School, will consider the intended and unintended consequences of new payment models in Medicare for post-acute care providers like home health agencies.
These new payment models seem to have one trick — cutting post-acute care use. This can be viewed as a positive development if these cuts are largely targeting low-value post-acute care.
However, Dr. Grabowski will also discuss the implications of these cuts for long-term care providers and families.
Featured Speaker: Aaron Blight
As a healthcare organization, caregiving is the essence of what you do every day. You employ caregivers, and you serve patients as well as their families. However, caregivers are usually so busy with the tasks of caregiving that they rarely reflect upon the meaning of their activities.
Aaron Blight is the founder of Caregiving Kinetics, a boutique consulting firm dedicated to expanding the world’s capacity to care for the aging population. Dr. Blight is also a former CEO of two Home Instead Senior Care franchises in Virginia and West Virginia where he led a staff of 390 caregivers located across 3,000 square miles of territory. His thoughtful, emotive, and inspiring presentation will breaks down the components of caregiving into four parts — Roles, Relationships, Realities, and Rewards — helping you to more effectively fulfill care-related roles and support others with care-related responsibilities.
